The Lido di Venezia is an island that on one side faces Venice and the Lagoon and, on the other the Adriatic Sea. This beach that spreads along 12 km length, is the most charming seaside resort of the whole upper Adriatic coast. In the nineteenth century it was the preferred destination for many important writers such us Lord Byron and Thomas Mann. The German writer, inspired by the beauty of the place, settled his most famous novel “Death in Venice” in the Hotel Des Bains. The Lido is also the place used by Venetians to practice sport at the Alberoni.
