The Mainland

The historic centre of Venice is not the only interesting place to visit in the region of Veneto. This unique region and the Venetian hinterland offer picturesque and charming places that deserve to be discovered. Towns, villages, hills, rivers and many other things are masterpiece of art and culture. Wherever you decide to go, you are sure to find ancient churches or restored buildings as well as green open spaces. You do not need to go too far!

Mestre and the other localities

Mestre, just 10 kilometres from Venice, has maintained its medieval Borgo San Lorenzo, that has been restored and named Piazza Ferretto. The square is the meeting point for people, from kids to older ones, from Mestre. Other two fascinating medieval small towns are those of Mirano and Noale. If you prefer a more naturalistic place, you have to much to choose, from sea to mountains passing through hills. Not far away from the historic Venice, there is the famous Riviera del Brenta. All along the river, there are elegant and ancient villas surrounded by large parks enriched by various trees and colourful flowers. Most of them are, with their white stone facades, masterpieces of the Palladium style. Wherever you go you would be impressed by the various landscapes the Venetian hinterland offers.
