Don't Miss the Vogalonga in Venice

The spring climate embraces and celebrates the traditional displays that Venice is famous for. From 31st May, the Vogalonga is a must, a colourful and picturesque regatta, which draws in thousands of participants. If you have already made a booking in Venice, this is an unmissable event, which has proved enormously popular, and an immediate winner, although it started only relatively recently. Not only an expression of original, charming spectacle, the Vogalonga deserves praise for the way it has stimulated growth in craftwork as well as the world of row boats.

The route unwinds over thirty miles, commencing at the St. Mark's basin and finishing at Punta della Salute, by way of the Grand Canal. There are many foreign competitors, evidence of just how attractive this gathering is, showing the way to build profitable sharing through a common spirit. The race starts at 8.30 am.

Feast of Redentore in Venice

Like Carnival, the Feast of Redentore is one of the most important celebrations for Venice and the Venetians, but while the carnival is a recurrence of character now "global", the celebrations for the Redentore are still deeply and specifically linked to the lagoon city.

Next weekend Venice will 'dress up' to remember the third Sunday in July 1577 when the Doge Sebastiano Venier announced that the Serenissima was finally free from the contagion of plague. According to the tradition, also this year, apart from the religious celebrations, there will be a firework show that, with the lights reflected on the lagoon, will be able to give truly magical emotions
