Caorle with its ancient township, is situated from east to west between two splendid beaches. One is rocky and the other sandy. They envelop in 18 kilometres length. Most of the beach is equipped with the most modern facilities for sun and sea bath. Caorle town centre is worth a visit. It has magnificently preserved its ancient small and colourful buildings. In a sort of way it seams to be in one of the islands of the lagoon, the small fishermen’s houses, closed each others, are all painted with different and gaudy colour from blue to yellow and green. They are beautiful just for their simplicity, typical of the Veneto island architecture. Caorle town centre streets are really narrow and paved with cobbled pavement. Walking along its streets seams like being in a time half-way between history and legend. The old city centre is dominated by the cathedral built in 1038 and magnificently restored. The bell tower that was added a century later is closed to it. Looking at it, it stands out that the bell tower is not perpendicular but a bit leaning.
